Week Striper Tournament
November 20th through 27th
Today was the opening day of the third annual Turkey Week Striper Tournament. Participation was decreased this year with only 16 boats entered. The first day of fishing had a good turn out with half of the boats fishing, but only 4 boats weighing fish. The heaviest fish of the day, 16.3#, was brought to the scales by Stripe Tease. Parker 21 followed with a15.3 # fish. Rock On was next in line and weighed two rockfish which were 14.5 & 14.3 pounds. High Hook also brought an 8.2 # striper to the scales. No boat weighed a total of three fish.
On the fourth day of the Turkey Week Striper Tournament only one boat fished but was not able to land a keeper striper. The weather was fairly windy.
Thanksgiving Day was the fifth day of fishing. Five boats declared a fish day. The weather was improved from Wednesday. It was calm and overcast, ideal conditions for rockfishing. Other Woman brought one fish at 12.4 pounds to the scales. Rock On had the heaviest fish for the day which weighed 25.0 pounds. Parker 21 had a good day bringing three stripers for weighing, 16.9, 18.1 & 19.1
There were a few changes to the leader board. Two fishing days are left and six boats still have another day to fish.
