2010 IRBA Information

What do IRBA members get for their dues?  IRBA members get two picnics during the summer that they and a guest can attend for free.  These events are more than just a picnic but a catered dinner with live entertainment and free drinks.  New to the event line up for 2010 is the IRBA’s year end party.  This event will also be free to our members and will be held in a local restaurant the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

The IRBA coordinates fishing tournaments that coincide with these events.  New for 2010 is the Chompers Shark Tournament which will take place in the beginning of June.  It should provide plenty of excitement to get the summer started.  For the third year in a row, the IRBA is proud to promote the TaTa Tuna Tournament.  The proceeds from this tournament will be donated to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.  This organization helps many local women during and after their fight with this disease.  Last year, the IRBA along with the crew of the Obie Wan, the boat that won the tournament, donated $10,000 to the DBCC.  The IRBA’s second new tournament for 2010 will be a one day inshore tournament that coincides with National Marina Day in the beginning of August.  Last but not the least is our Turkey Week Striper Tournament which ends the years activities.  This will be the third year for this tournament.

In an effort to draw more participants for the tournaments, we are pleased to announce that White Marlin Marina in OceanCity will be a weigh station for the tournaments in 2010.

IRBA members will again receive a discount to join Boat U.S.  IRBA has plans for informative events to take place throughout the year.  An example would be a jigging seminar sponsored by the local Shimano representative.  We are in contact with the Red Cross to provide a First Aid and CPR class for our members.  IN an attempt to keep our members informed, we now have a monthly news letter called Currents.   This news letter has more then just marina news.  We try to keep members up to date with the latest information from the Coast Guard as well as the state and national marine fisheries services.

We hope you enjoy 2010 !

Membership Details
